TROY, Ala. - Troy men's basketball head coach Adam Howard announced the signing of transfer Caden Diggs on Friday.Â
Diggs spent his sophomore season at UMBC, appearing in 32 games and averaging 22.9 minutes per contest. A prolific scorer, he shot 48.2 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from 3-point range. The fourth-leading scorer on the America East champion Retrievers, Diggs averaged 10.0 points per game.Â
"Caden is a great addition to our program," said Howard. "He's the total package as a student-athlete. He cares deeply about his education and works just as hard on his game. Caden has great positional size for a wing, and his versatility brings a ton of value to our team. He has made improvements each season, and we are confident he will take another jump in his development this coming season and have a big impact on our program."Â
The 6-foot-8 forward finished with 15 points, eight rebounds, and two steals in UMBC's loss to Howard in the NCAA First Four. Diggs scored in double figures 19 times during his sophomore season and recorded his first career double-double against Wagner.Â
The Waldorf, Md., native began his college career at Old Dominion, where he appeared in all 35 games for the Monarchs during the 2024-25 season. Diggs recorded 2.9 points and 1.3 rebounds per game while averaging 10.0 minutes off the bench.Â
Diggs helped lead the Bullis School to a 27-3 record and district championship during his senior season of high school, scoring 12 points in the title win. Earning honorable mention All-Metro D.C. honors, Diggs was the highest-ranked recruit in Bullis history by 247Sports, checking in at No. 97 nationally.Â
Diggs joins transfers Robert Davis Jr. and Jacoi Hutchinson, incoming freshmen Willie Piggott Jr., Romain Valakou, and Tucker Wadsworth, and returners Kerrington Kiel, Evan Griffin, Emmanuel Clarton, and Hikaru Awata on Troy's 2026-27 roster.Â
