Troy to Face North Texas in First Round

NEW ORLEANS - The Sun Belt Conference released its schedule and seeding for the 2011 Sun Belt Men's Basketball Championships on Tuesday evening.
Troy will face North Texas, who defeated UALR on Tuesday night to earn the fourth seed out of the west division. The Trojans defeated the Mean Green 89-81 back on January 15 in Troy.
Top seeds and divisional champions Florida Atlantic, Arkansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette highlight the field of 12 for the championship that will be held March 5-8 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Arkansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette both earned a share of the Western Division title while Florida Atlantic won the East Division outright and claimed the tournament's overall No. 1 seed.
Arkansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette along with Florida Atlantic and Middle Tennessee earned byes into the quarterfinals of the tournament championship. The first round and the quarterfinals of the championship will take place March 5 and 6 with the league utilizing the two-court system once again as games will be played in Summit Arena and the Convention Center Court. The semifinals and championship game will be played exclusively in Summit Arena.
The first round and quarterfinal games can be viewed exclusively on www.sunbeltsports.org as SBC Extra will webcast those games. The semifinal matchups will be aired on the Sun Belt Network with the championship match being broadcast nationally on ESPN2. Additionally, the semifinals and championship game can be viewed on ESPN3.com and ESPN Full Court.
