This is the first such honor for the women's soccer program
TROY, Ala. – The honors continue to roll in for the Troy University soccer program months after their season has ended, this time an honor for the coaching staff.
Head coach Chris Bentley was recently named to the National ODP (Olympic Development Program) coach staff. This is the first such honor for the Troy University women's soccer program.
“To be a part of the National ODP camp staff is an amazing opportunity,” Bentley said. “Not only will it be a great chance to develop as a coach, but to have a chance to work with some of the best coaches and players across North America as well as represent Troy University is truly an honor.”
Bentley will begin his coaching duties in March, as the annual USL Super Y-League Olympic Development Program National Camp will be held. The camp will be held March 3 through March 6 in Sarasota, Florida at the IMG Academy campus.
The camps will feature a select collection of boy and girl players from Super Y-League teams throughout the United States and Canada.
The goal of the Super Y-League ODP National Camp Coach is to provide an opportunity for every player to showcase his or her talent throughout the camp. Coaches will be evaluating and assessing each player under their direct supervision as well as those from other group in an effort to identify a pool of players/goalkeepers for the SYL ODP National Select Team.
