TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's basketball team will hit the floor for the first time on Monday night as they host West Alabama at Sartain Hall at 7:00 p.m.
The game is an exhibition that doesn't count towards the Trojans' record, but is still very valuable. Troy features nine newcomers and returns just three letterwinners from a season ago, meaning all on-court experience is valuable as the Trojans build towards their regular season opener at Texas Tech on Friday night.
The Trojans and 30th year head coach Don Maestri are hosting West Alabama for the fourth straight year in what marks the 50th season of basketball in Sartain Hall.
Monday night's contest is also a valuable one of the Tigers as it marks their first game under new head Mike Newell who led UALR to three NCAA tournaments in six years in the 1980's.
Admission to Monday's night game is FREE and open to the public with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. Be sure to check back with TroyTrojans.com for recaps and stats. Fans can also find Troy on Twitter @TroyAthletics or on Facebook.
