The Trojan's finished tied for 8th with a three-day total of 930.
The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raider's took the title at the Invitation this weekend with a three-day score of 886, which is +22 total.
“I just did not finish well,” comments Haley Lawrence after the final round.
Lawrence slipped into a tie for 11th place after being just two shots out of the lead and firing a 78.
Sofia Bjorkman finished the tournament with a 78 and finished in a tie for the 33rd position.
The low score for Troy in the third round was freshman, Langley Vannoy. She fired a 74 for the final round of the tournament. Vannoy finished the tournament with a tie for 39th place with a 20 over par.
Freshman, Sydney Conrad ended the fall season with an 81. Her three-day score totaled to 26 over par.
Taylor McGraw shot an 82 in the final round. She played in every event this fall season and shares some valuable insight about colligate golf.
“Experience is everything, especially as an incoming freshman. I've learned that it takes more than one way to play golf. Meaning that I need to learn to be savvier with the game. I have to be able to take any course and adjust my game to meet that standard to help the team,” comments McGraw.
Golf doesn't always have to be the perfect swing it's about learning to manipulate the clubs and body in order to achieve better result and ultimately lower scores.
With every competitive round played and reflection, each player will grow and developed their own game. Overall the girls were disappointed with how they finished the fall season, they believe that this fall season was a learning curve and are excited to see what the spring will bring.
When confronted about the most basic things that the girls team needed to work on it was putting.
The Trojans beat 2 of their conference rivals, but they trailed the other four conference teams.
The Trojans have a few months to practice and then the spring season will start. The first spring event is February 28, 2012.
In the spring, the girls team knows that its time to shine. They have high expectations for the team and they will push each other to be better.
“We have shown we have the talent and ability to win as a team. We have a lot of good players on our team,” says McGraw “Now, we have to get it together on the same day.”
