Sword Earns All-Sun Belt Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Sun Belt Conference announced its 2011-12 Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Teams as well as the Preseason Coaches' Poll on Tuesday, with one Trojan finding her name on the short list.
Senior guard DeAngela Sword has been named to the conference's Third Team as voted on by the league's head coaches.
She came off the bench in the season-opener, but went on to start the next 29 consecutive games for the Trojans a season ago. Sword led the team in scoring 11 times and scored in double figures 20 times during her first year at TROY and in the Sun Belt Conference. She was named All-Tournament at the Osprey Holiday Invitational (12/18-19/2010).
Sword and the Trojans will tip-off their season inside Sartain Hall on Sunday, November 13 when Winthrop visits Troy.
