Troy Men Head to Monroe

The Trojans have a quick turnaround from their Thursday night loss to South Alabama, because Troy heads to Monroe, La. to face ULM on Saturday.

Troy (4-16, 2-6) has lost three-straight contests and is 0-11 on the road this season.

The Men of Troy do own the advantage in the all-time series with ULM. The Trojans have won four-straight games with the Warhawks and hold a 4-2 all-time advantage.

ULM (6-16, 1-7) has fallen on similar hard times to the Trojans, having lost two in a row and five of its last six games. The most recent defeat came at the hands of Arkansas State on Thursday, 62-61.

The Trojans are led by senior guard Vernon Taylor. He averages 15.4 ppg, but during the three-game skid has dropped to 14.0 ppg and is shooting just 37 percent from the field (13-of-35).

Taylor has stepped his performance up at the foul line during the stretch. He is shooting 86.7 percent (13-of-15) over the last three games.

In two career games against the Warhawks, Taylor has averaged 15.0 ppg, while connecting on 75 percent (12-of-15) field goals.

The sparkplug that keeps Troy going is sophomore Will Weathers. The New Orleans, La.-native leads the Sun Belt in assists (6.6) and minutes (35.8/gm). He is averaging 17.8 ppg, 7.0 apg and 5.0 rpg while shooting nearly 82 percent from the foul line in league games.

The Warhawks are led by Kansas State transfer Fred Brown. A natural shooter, Brown is connecting on 38.5 percent of his outside chances and leading the team in scoring (13.7 ppg).
