All-Sports Corporate Ticket Blitz Underway
8/3/2010 4:58:52 PM | Baseball, Football, Basketball (M), Basketball (W)
Troy University Athletics' 2010 Corporate Ticket Blitz is underway and will continue through August 19.
The Ticket Blitz pits four regionally based teams, each with 25 team members, from Birmingham to Dothan points in between. The teams will compete to out-sell each other for prizes that will include autographed Troy Athletics items, travel with the football team to an away game, teams in the annual Larry Blakeney Golf Tournament and more.
The teams will be working to sell corporate tickets for football, basketball and baseball for the 2010-11 seasons.
“The importance of attracting businesses and individuals through a corporate ticket program exists at all institutions,” Trojans football coach Larry Blakeney said. “However, this endeavor is like none other in that it places us in a position to break records and turn heads across the landscape of collegiate athletics.
“It cannot be said enough that an undertaking of this scope will have an impact far beyond the upcoming season. Businesses, families, community organizations and many more will benefit from the impact of the 2010 All-Sports Corporate Ticket Blitz. We are indebted to the volunteers and friends who have come alongside us in this important effort. Their impact will be felt for years to come.”
The top teams in the Blitz will be recognized on Saturday, August 21, at Football Appreciation night. Winners and prizes will be announced at that time.
Team captains for the 2010 Corporate Ticket Blitz are Jason Jones (Troy), Dawn Railey (Troy), Todd Mote (Montgomery) and Gary Hay (Dothan).
“Corporate ticket plans give you the flexibility to choose tickets to all three sports at once or choose any sport individually,” Troy University Director of Athletics Steve Dennis said. “By investing in corporate tickets, you have the opportunity to reward employees by giving tickets that are fun for the entire family, or you could choose to entertain clients or prospective customers at electrifying Trojan victories.”
In addition to giving corporations an opportunity to provide tickets to employees and potential customers, the Ticket Blitz offers companies an opportunity to give back to the community, by helping to provide tickets to events for area children, deserving military personnel and others who might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend a Trojans Athletics event.
“One of the significant highlights of this program is the 'Give-Back Option' which has a lasting impact on many in our community and region,” Trojans baseball coach Bobby Pierce said. “The ability to provide free admission to military personnel, elementary student and so many more brings with it a deep sense of satisfaction.
“To the many who already participate in the Corporate Ticket Program, and especially those who are volunteering their time as a blitz team member, we cannot say thank you enough. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated.”
