Troy University Director of Track and Field and Cross Country, Jill Lancaster, released the schedule for the 2010 Trojan Cross Country season Monday afternoon.
The Trojans will start the season, for the third consecutive year, at home at the Troy Invitational on September 4, with the men starting at 9:30am and the women starting at 10am.
“We're really glad we are still able to have our home meets this year with all the construction going on around campus,” Lancaster said. “Coach (Stephane) Hetherington worked really hard to make sure we had a workable course.”
The following week, September 10, the Trojans will travel to Hampton, Ga., to run in a meet conducted by Georgia State University. The women will start the meet as they hit the course first at 3 pm, with the men following them at 3:45 pm.
Following those two meets in six days, the Trojans hit the road again, as they go to Tuscaloosa to participate in the Crimson Classic on September 18. The team has a couple weeks of rest before they will be on the road again at Florida State University. The Florida State Invitational runs on October 8, with the women running at 6:20 pm and the men will be running at 6:45.
The Trojans will then have a week before they wrap up their regular season at home in the Coach “O” Invitational on October 16, as the men run at 9:30 am followed by the women at 10.
Following the home meet, the Trojans then trek northward to Bowling Green and the campus of Western Kentucky for the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Championship on October 30. The meet starts at 10 am with the women, followed by the men at 11 am.
