Troy Rebounds With Victory

TROY, Ala. – The 72nd-ranked Troy University men's tennis team rebounded after a tough loss on Friday night, defeating Louisiana-Lafayette 4-3 at the Lunsford Tennis Complex on Saturday night.
The Trojans swept through doubles play once again, with the closest match being at number three with the team of Guilherme SahadiAnas Rouchdi and defeating the Ragin' Cajun team of Tomasz Kryszkowski and Robert Voss, 8-6.
Meanwhile, the team of Branko Weber and Xavier Masson defeated the team of Javier Pulgar-Garcia and Neil Schneidar 8-2, and the team of Luis Henrique Grangeiro and Mario Rolemberg defeated the team of Carlin Murray and Yanick Mandl 8-5 to complete the sweep.
In singles play, Troy (6-3) was able to win three out of the six matches. Luis Henrique Grangeiro defeated Javier Pulgar-Garcia 6-3, 6-3 at number one; while Mario Rolemburg defeated Neil Schneider 6-3, 6-4 at number five. Aurelien Tave, Anas Rouchdi, and Branko Weber all lost in straight sets.
The final point to decide the match, came down to Guilherme Sahadi and Robert Voss. Sahadi won the first set 6-2. In the second set, Voss was able to bounce back with a 6-4 win. But the intensity of Sahadi was too much for Voss in the final set as Guilherme rolled to a 6-2 victory to seal the win for the Trojans.
The Trojans return to action March 4th at home against the University of Southern Miss at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
