Rain Forces Cancellations

NEW ORLEANS - Thunderstorms across the New Orleans area on Friday afternoon have forced two matches of the Sun Belt Conference Tennis Championships indoors and a rescheduling of matches for the rest of the tournament taking place at the UNO Tennis Center.
On the women's side, matches between Troy and Louisiana-Monroe and Arkansas State and FIU were postponed midway through the match with lightning in the area. Those two matches will resume at 7 pm Friday evening at the Hilton Riverside Hotel.
With only four courts at the indoor facility, the night could be long for the Trojan women who will be second on the court. The anticipated start time for the women's match is 9 pm for the Trojans, who lost the doubles point and were in singles play when the weather hit New Orleans.
Women's matches scheduled for 10 am on Saturday morning have been moved to 2 pm to accommodate the adjusted Friday schedule.
The two men's matches scheduled for Friday afternoon (Troy vs. Florida Atlantic and Denver vs. Middle Tennessee) have been rescheduled for 10 am Saturday. The men's championship match originally scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday will now be played at 10 am on Sunday.
The Sun Belt Conference women's championship match will still be played at 12 noon on Sunday.
