Trojans Reel in Another Victory

THIBODAUX, La. - The Troy University men's tennis team continues their push to get back into the national rankings, as they blasted Nicholls State University 7-0 Sunday afternoon at the Colonel Tennis Complex.

Nicholls State (7-3) lost all doubles, coming the closest at number three spot with senior Eric Fisher and true freshman Roy Knight falling 8-6 to Guilherme Sahadi and Anas Rouchdi.

Troy (8-3) swept all the singles with Nicholls State senior Phenyo Matong and freshman Dmitry Kozionov forcing three sets. Matong went on to lose 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 to Aurelien Tave at number two, while Kozionov was defeated 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 by Mario Rolemberg at number five.

The Trojans have not lost a match since dropping a 4-3 decision to Winthrop one week ago, and defeated a Nicholls State team that had defeated Sun Belt foe South Alabama earlier this season.

Troy continues their five-match road swing as they head to the state of Florida for three matches this week during Spring Break.
