TROY, Ala. - A week after falling out of the national rankings, the Troy University men's tennis team jumped back into the rankings according to ITATennis.com this week.
Two weeks ago, the Trojans entered the national rankings at 72 - the first time in eight years they have been ranked. This week, after winning three consecutive matches - two of which were on the road - the Trojans are back in the rankings at 75 this week.
Troy (8-3) is one of only two Sun Belt Conference schools in the national rankings, with the other being the University of Denver at 29th in the country. The two will not meet until the Sun Belt Conference Tournament at the end of the season.
The Trojans return to the courts this week for three matches in the state of Florida, taking on the University of Buffalo at Florida Atlantic University Wednesday afternoon.
Luis Henrique Grangeiro continues to lead the way for Troy this season, recording a 9-2 record at number one through 11 matches this season - with his only losses coming to nationally-ranked players from Auburn and Ole Miss. He has also teamed with Mario Rolemberg to record an 8-3 record. He has reeled off six consecutive singles victories and five consecutive doubles victories on the season.
The Trojans will finish off the south Florida swing with Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast before returning home at the end of Spring Break this week.
