Trojans Defeat Florida Gulf Coast

FORT MYERS, Fla. - After trailing in number one doubles and facing three match points, the 75th-ranked Troy University men's tennis team averted losing the doubles point for the second match in a row by storming back to capture the point and a 4-3 victory over Florida Gulf Coast University Saturday afternoon.
In doubles and came out strong and claimed the first doubles match of the day at number three with a convincing 8-1 victory. In the decisive doubles match Luis Henrique Grangeiro and trailed 7-6 (40-0), facing a triple match point, but came back strong and turned the match around winning 9-8, with a tiebreak score of 8-6 and gave the important doubles point to the Trojans.Mario Rolemberg
Troy (11-3), winners of six consecutive matches won the first three singles matches of the day to capture the victory, although Florida Gulf Coast was able to capture three of their won. The Trojans return to action Sunday morning against Florida Atlantic University on the road at 9 am (EST). The match was originally scheduled for Friday afternoon but was postponed due to weather.
