Tennis Adds Five Signees

TROY, Ala. - Troy University head tennis coach Eric Hayes announced the addition of five players for the 2010-11 season, all signing on National Signing Day.
The signees include four male student-athletes, as well as one female student-athlete to compliment the young Trojan women's tennis team returning next season.
The list of signees includes Tommy Cundy of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Cundy is a highly touted recruit out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and that he plays #1 at Cardinal-Gibbons High School, a perennial athletics powerhouse in South Florida. Tommy also plans to train overseas this summer before enrolling at Troy in the fall.
Sami Ghorbel will join the Trojans from Sfx, Tunisia. He is ranked top 200 in the the world in ITF juniors, and was the 2006 African champion. He will be joined by Rodrigo Schaefer of Florianopolis, Brazil. He has been ranked as high as number two as a junior in Brazil. The final signee on the men's side is Carlos Antonio do Val of Ribeirao Preto, Brazil. he is ranked top five as a junior in Brazil.
On the women's side, Hannah Toro becomes the second English player to sign with the Trojans in as many years. The London, England native joins Emma Smith in that category, and she joins an all ready young but experienced squad for the 2010-11 season. She is ranked in the world ITF junior rankings, and is ranked in the top 20 in England.
