Athletes of the Meet Announced

TROY, Ala. - A pair of Troy University track and field student-athletes were named the Athletes of the Meet during the Coach O Invitational at the Jesse H. Colley Track/Soccer Complex.
There were a hosts of student-athletes who could have earned the honor, but it was a pair of Trojans with multiple wins during the meet that won the award.
Seniors Tiphanie Baker and Lamontrey Stamper continued to impress during the meet, each winning a paur of events - Baker (hammer and discus) and Stamper (long jump and triple jump).
Just one week after breaking her school record from last season in the hammer, Baker wasted little time in setting a higher standard in the event. This
week, Baker broke her previous mark of 57.05 meters, by throwing a
distance of 58.36 meters to easily win the opening competition of the
meet. She went on to win the discus as well with a throw of 44.39 meters.
Meanwhile, in the men's long jump, Stamper chalked up another title this season as he finished first with a jump of 7.39 meters. He followed that up with a another title, winning the triple jump just minutes later with a jump of 14.90 meters.
The Trojans do not return to action until May 7 on the road for the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
