TROY, Ala. - For the first time since the fall, the Troy University women's tennis team returns home for a match at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. The Trojans will play four matches in five days beginning on Friday, closing out the home portion of their schedule.
Troy (5-6) looks to even their record at .500 when they host ULM on Friday in the first of the four matches. The Trojans and ULM will begin at 12 noon on Friday. The Trojans will follow that up with a pair of matches beginning at 10 am over the weekend - against UALR on Saturday and Arkansas State on Sunday. They then close out the home portion of the schedule against Jacksonville State, celebrating Senior Day against the Gamecocks, beginning at 1:30 pm on Tuesday.
The Trojans last played at home during the fall season when they hosted the Troy Fall Classic. They were scheduled to play at home twice this season, but both of those matches were cancelled due to the weather (snow and cold) back on February 11 against Winthrop and February 13 against North Florida.
Troy has won three matches in a row to have a chance to even their record as they prepare for the season-ending Sun Belt Conference Championship later in April. The Trojans have played have played four nationally-ranked teams this season, all on the road, including a top 10 opponent in Florida. This season, senior Stephanie Vieira leads the Trojans in singles play with a record of 5-3; while freshman Karoline Grymel and junior Leonie Guijt lead the way in doubles with a record of 7-4.
