Trojans Close Strong in Final Fall Event

FT. MYERS, Fla. – The Troy University women's golf team finished the fall schedule on a high note, posting a final round score of 305 at the 33rd Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational.
The Trojans were led by junior Haley Lawrence, who recovered from a rough start to play near flawless golf over her final 14 holes to post a one-over par score of 73. The Prattville native had a double bogey/bogey on the third and fourth holes on Tuesday, but played the rest of the round at two-under par with birdies on six and 13.
Lawrence finished the tournament at seven over par, which tied for 18th overall in the 81-player event.
Ericka Schneider of Daytona State College posted a final round score of 68 to finish the tournament at six under par for a four shot victory over Chandra Alexander of North Texas. The Mean Green took top honors as a team with a final score of 12 over par (876), one shot better than Daytona State.
Other Sun Belt Conference teams in the event included host FIU (895) in fifth, South Alabama (921) in ninth and FAU (922) in 10th. The Trojans finished seven shots behind the Owls in 11th place.
Junior Sofia Bjorkman and freshman Signy Arnorsdottir both finished with total scores of 232 and tied for 44th in the tournament. Senior Liz Balkcom (242) finished tied for 62nd and senior Annelies Anderson (252) finished 72nd, one shot better than sophomore Sara Fennvik (253) in a tie for 73rd.
The Trojans will open play again in late February at the USA Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate.
