Women Pick Up Two Victories on Final Two Days Of Tournament

Playing shorthanded, the Trojans were able to win two of their final three matches of tournament
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Troy University women's tennis team completed a three-day event at the USM Halloween Invitational by winning two of their final three matches on the road.
On the second day of competition, after a long and grueling opening day, the Trojans picked up a victory over Louisiana Tech behind two singles victories and a doubles victory.
In singles, the Trojans used victories by Leonie Guijt and Olfa Dhaoui to pick up two big points. Guijt defeated Anna Zurek 6-0, 6-1; while Dhaoui defeated Sophie Heldoorn 6-0, 6-2 to get the two points in singles. Meanwhile, in doubles, the Trojans were able to clinch the match with the victory.
Later that afternoon, the Trojans dropped a 3-2 decision to Southeastern Louisiana after sitting out doubles play.
In singles, Karoline Grymel picked up a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Audrey Chelini; while her doubles partner, Guijt, picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Laura Verges for the only victories of the match for the Trojans.
On the final day of the tournament, the Trojans opened the day by taking on the host Golden Eagles of Southern Miss. The two teams played just four singles matches against each other, and split those four matches to end the day at 2-all.
At number one singles, Grymel defeated Vroni van Berlo 6-3, 6-1; while the Trojans other victory came at number two where Guijt defeated Asa Bengtson 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 for the final point of the day for Troy.
