Dhaoui Remains Alive In ITA Southeast Regional

Several Trojans were in action Saturday, with Dhaoui advancing to the consolation quarterfinals

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The second day of the 2010 ITA Southeast Regionals finished Saturday evening with one Troy University women's tennis player remaining alive in the tournament consolation bracket.
Olfa Dhaoui advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament, her first collegiate tournament, by defeating Katie Cecil of Tulane 7-6, 3-6, 10-3. She will face Milou Israel of Louisiana-Lafayette - a straight set winner over Adna Curukovic of Northwestern State - in the quarterfinals on Sunday morning at 10 am.
Senior Leonie Guijt fell in her final match of the tournament in singles, falling to Julie Mazanova of Louisiana-Lafayette.
Meanwhile, in doubles play, the team of Karoline Grymel and Guijt bounced back from their first round loss to the number one seed, defeating Raisa Guasta and Ralphaela Lima of Jacksonville State 8-3.
Unfortunately, they fell to the team of Chane Hines and Alina Volman of South Alabama, 9-8, to conclude their tournament action.
The tournament continues on Sunday morning on the campus of Samford University.
