Troy got a much needed win over Western Kentucky on Thursday to battle back into the thick of the East division race. Now the team faces the über-athletic Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette.
- Troy head coach Don Maestri is 54-53 all-time against current members of the Sun Belt Conference.
- Center Yamene Coleman has become a force in the paint for Troy over the last five games. The senior is averaging 14 ppg and 11.2 rpg while hitting 54 percent of his field goal attempts.
- Coleman has five double-doubles on the year, one away from tying Troy's Sun Belt record of six set by Richard Chaney during the 2006-07 season. He is tied with three others for 1st in the league with 5.
- Troy and Louisiana-Lafayette are tied at 4-4 for the all-time series. Troy owns a commanding 3-1 advantage in games played at the Cajundome. Last year, Troy picked up a 81-67 win to close out the regular season.
- Troy is averaging a league-best 79.2 ppg and is second in FG% (49.0%) and second in 3-point FG% (39.2). UL is third in the SBC in FG% defense (42.8) and second in turnover margin (+1.9).

- Brandon Hazzard has averaged 14.5 in four career games, three starts against the Cajuns. He has hit 52.9 percent (9-of-17) of his 3-point attempts.
