Second Day of UGA Invitational Wraps Up

ATHENS, Ga. - The Troy University women's tennis team found the second day a little tougher than the first as they were matched up most of the day against the 31st-ranked Texas Longhorns.
The Trojans were able to pick up a victory in doubles, as well as a victory in singles against the Longhorns.
In singles play, freshman Karoline Grymel picked up a straight-set victory over Caroline Larsson 6-4, 6-3; while in doubles play the team Rosaura Ramirez-Vega and Stephanie Vieira picked up an 8-6 victory over the Longhorns' team of Abby Liu and Maya Zein-El-Abdin.
"We had some more solid performances from the freshman," Troy assistant coach Tyler Faulkner said. "(Karoline) Grymel and Emma Smith played well in doubles together. Karo played a great singles match and Emma fought hard but ultimately fell in three sets. The rest of the team competed well but Texas is a really tough team with a lot of talented players.We had some more solid performances from the freshman.
The tournament concludes on Sunday.
