Trojans Host UNT Thursday

TROY – Thursday night's match-up between Troy and North Texas will be a match-up between two of the highest scoring teams in the Sun Belt.
Troy (9-7, 4-1) leads the Sun Belt and is 23rd in the nation in team scoring at 80.5 points per game. Not only is Troy filling it up once more this season, the team is on pace to set a program record for field goal percentage while hitting 49.4 percent of its attempts. That percentage ranks 16th in the nation and second in the league.
Pacing Troy offensively is Sun Belt scoring leader Brandon Hazzard. The senior from Atlanta is scoring 19.0 ppg, including 21.2 ppg in league contests. He is also leading the Sun Belt in 3-pointers made with 47.
North Texas (10-6, 3-3) counters with its own stellar group of shooters. As a team, the Mean Green are shooting 45.1 percent from the field and scoring the third most points in the league (73.9 ppg).
Leading the charge for North Texas is a quartet of players scoring in double-digits. Josh White leads the group with 15.3 ppg, while shooting 46.3 percent from deep. He also leads the team with 68 assists. Tristan Thompson is another outstanding shooter for UNT. He is scoring 12.9 ppg and knocking down 3-pointers at a 46.2 percent rate.
Post players Eric Tramiel (11.2 ppg, 4.9 rebounds per game) and George Odufuwa (10.8 ppg, 9.6 rpg) round out the double-digit scorers.
