The Troy University soccer team (1-0) looks win their second consecutive win of their season hitting the road to face Southeastern Louisiana (1-0) at 4:30 pm Friday afternoon
The Trojans, who have never defeated the Lions, are playing the ninth matchup in the school's history. Head coach Chris Bentley had his first encounter with Southeastern Louisiana during his debut season, but was unable to capture a victory as the 2-2 tie in double overtime.
In 2008, the Trojans were put to the test when they entered halftime with a 2-0 deficit, but came back with a vengeance in the second half to force the overtime.
Troy kicked off their season with a 4-1 victory over Alabama A&M last Friday, that keeps the Trojans' four-game winning streak alive.
Sophomore Jill Pinder and junior Mary Morris, look to continue the success from the season opener, as both found the back of the net twice.
Goalkeeper Ashley Branham looks to complete her first shutout of the season, after a two-save game against the Bulldogs.
Coach Bentley says he is prepared to take on the Lions.
"Every time we go down there it is competitive. They play very direct which is different than what we are used to. We have made some adjustments ad we had a good week of preparation and I think were ready," Bentley said.
Following Friday's match, The Trojans will travel to Thibodaux, Louisana to take on Nicholls State.
Troy has never lost a match to the Colonels in their six previous matchups and looks to continue that streak on Sunday.
