Bon jour a Paris, France! This traveling broad is about traveled out, just as my French is weak and tired. We have seen every nook and cranny of Paris we could see on bus and on foot today. I would definitely recommend staying more than one day if you ever decide to visit the City of Lights. We will conclude our sightseeing tonight on the Bateaux Mouche, an open air boat tour on the Seine River which runs through the heart of the city.
In the meantime, I'm trying to rest my poor tootsies, nurse some blisters, and rest my over-stimulated mind. I've uploaded some pictures from the last game, which we won, as well as our first part of the Paris rendezvous. I will apologize for the quality of them as I left my camera battery charger in Amsterdam and have exhausted its resources. I have been using the video camera to take photos, and it doesn't have a flash.
It has been frustrating to communicate here in Paris. It seems that even though we bailed the Frenchies out of some troubles in the past, they're not willing to say 'hey, y'all' and 'you're welcome.' We've actually even been sent on some wild foie gras chases when we asked locals -just as pretty as you s'il vous plait, might I add- if they could help us with directions. Not all of them have acted thusly, but one is enough.
I will post final stats from the last game and some other pictures from our evening trip, but probably not until we arrive back in the good old U.S.A. as time is running out and I'm trying to experience Paris as much as possible.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that I miss my family and friends tremendously (in addition to the simple pleasures of being able to hear and read words and know what they mean). I don't miss the office all that much, but I'd trade it for this on-the-job assignment any day.
In addition, my daughter started middle school today and I missed it. One of the down sides to this profession is being away from home quite a bit. I've never been this far, but distance is distance. I'm not complaining, mind you...just stating the facts. If you see her, make sure you tell her hello for me!
Until then-
Aurevoir and Geaux Trojans!
