TROY ? Troy soccer coach Chris Bentley announced his program's summer camp dates for 2009 on Thursday.
The Troy Soccer program will once again host two events during the summer months, with the Girls Elite Soccer Academy being held July 17-19 and for the second straight year a day camp for boys and girls from June 8-11.
The goal of the Troy University Girls Elite Camp is to provide an opportunity for elite high school aged girls to train in an environment that will prepare them for the next level. Campers will be challenged both technically and tactically and have an opportunity to compete in game situations. The camp experience will not be limited to on-field opportunities. Campers will have an opportunity to discuss the recruiting process and the experience of being a student-athlete with both coaches and players. We will limit enrollment to a maximum of 40 campers to insure that our staff is working directly with all campers.
The day camp is designed to be challenging and competitive in a fun environment. Campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability. Appropriate drills/games will be implemented to create a comfortable learning environment for each group. Fundamental skills will be taught to all ages, and basic to advanced tactics will be included for different group levels. Staff for the camps will be comprised of top-level college coaches and players.
For more information on either camp contact the Troy assistant coach Claire Scanlan at (334) 670-5653.
