Trojans Go for Lucky Number 7

TROY ? The Troy Trojans basketball team is looking for a lucky seventh straight win and head coach Don Maestri is trying for win number 450 when they host Arkansas State on Thursday in Sun Belt action.
The Men of Troy have won six straight games and eight of their last nine and are currently enjoying the longest current win streak in the Sun Belt Conference. As part of their recent strong play, Troy guard Brandon Hazzard was named SBC Player of the Week.
The junior from Atlanta averaged 25.5 points per game in wins over North Texas and Denver and shot over 40 percent from behind the arc. Hazzard leads the team with a 14.7 ppg average this season.
Troy (13-10, 8-3) currently stands tied for second place in the SBC's east division with Middle Tennessee, just one-half game behind leader WKU. Arkansas State is current 5-5 in Sun Belt play.
The Red Wolves are led by Donald Boone who sports a 14.1 ppg average, while Shawn Morgan grabs a team-high 6.4 rebounds.
Head Coach Don Maestri is also looking for a milestone. The 27th year head man is seeking his 450th victory as head coach of Troy.
