Troy Soccer Signs Seven on Signing Day

TROY ? Coming off a successful 2008 campaign, the Troy Soccer program bolstered their future by adding seven signees on National Signing Day Wednesday.
All seven will be 2009 high school graduates and will enroll at Troy this fall. The signing class includes two players from both Georgia and Texas, along with one each from Florida, Michigan and Virginia.
“This is a quality group of girls that will work hard on and off the field. We are honored and excited to have them as a part of our program, and look forward to what the future holds for Troy Soccer,” head coach Chris Bentley said.
Bentley also plans to add a few more players to his newest class of incoming student-athletes.
“We have a couple more signees on the way that will further enhance this recruiting class,” he said.

Erin Cersley
Midfielder
Prep: Attended Monticello High School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Was a member of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, English Honor Society and Math Honor Society. In high school she was named Honorable Mention and Second Team All-District.

ODP: District ODP of Virginia
Personal: Daughter of Henry and Pamela Cersley and was born January 30, 1991.
Ashley Hoke
Midfielder/Forward
Prep: Attended Cypress Creek High School in Houston, Texas where she earned a varsity letter in 9th and 10th grade. In high school she was on the Honor Roll and also received the French II Achievement Award.

ODP: South Texas State Team
Personal: Daughter of Mark and Gail Hoke and was born September 30, 1990.
Jacqlyn O'Shea
Midfielder/Defender
Prep: Attended Walled Lake Northern in Wixom, MI. She was a member of the National Honor Society, was on the Honor Roll and also received the Academic Achievement Award.
Club: Michigan Hawks
ODP: Michigan State Team
Personal: Daughter of Brian and Karen O'Shea and was born on February 10, 1991.
Alyssa Rochester
Defender
Prep: Attended Merritt Island High School in Merritt Island, Florida. In high school she was a member of the National Honor Society. A four year starter and letterman, co-captain her senior year and also lettered in Track and field.
Club: Space Coast United Storm
Personal: Daughter of Peter and Laura Rochester and was born on May 26, 1991.
Ryan Smith
Goalkeeper
Prep: Attended Jersey Village High School in Houston, Texas. In high school she was an AP and Honor Student, a member of the GT Program and part of Duke Talent Search. She was a Regional High Jump Finalist, District 17-5A Newcomer of the Year, Falcon Award, District 17-5A Defensive Player of the Year.
Club: Challenge Soccer Club
ODP: South Texas State Team, Regional team 2006 and National Team 2006.
Personal: Daughter of Greg and Michelle Smith and was born on May 1, 1991.
Katie Welborn
Midfielder/Forward
Prep: Attended Lakeside High School in Decatur, Georgia. Was a member of the Honor Roll and National Honor Society and received the Heisman and Outstanding Senior Award. In high school she was the captain and was named MVP Attacker her freshmen and Junior years.

Personal: Daughter of Marshall and Debbie Welborn and was born on November 3, 1990.
Nikki Stamaris
Midfielder/Defender
Prep: Attended Grayson High School in Grayson, Georgia.
Club: GSA '91 Red
Personal: Daughter of Bradley and Kimberly Stamaris and was born on December 31, 1990.
