Troy Puts Streak on the Line, Seek Revenge

TROY ? The Troy Trojans will put its league-best eight game winning streak on the line at 7 pm on Thursday night when the team faces Middle Tennessee in Sun Belt action at Trojan Arena.
Revenge for an early season loss will also be a storyline for Thursday's game. Troy (15-10, 10-3 SBC) was defeated by the Blue Raiders 81-53 in Murfreesboro on December 11. MTSU also ended the Trojans' 2007-08 season, eliminating Troy from the Sun Belt Conference tournament with a 65-59 defeat.
Troy's Brandon Hazzard was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday. A feat that has never been accomplished by a Troy player and not done by any student-athlete since DeAndre Rice did it during the 2006-07 season.
Hazzard is averaging 18.0 points per game in conference play, while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field (49.7). Richard Delk chips in with 14.8 ppg in league play, while Michael Vogler adds 10.9 ppg. Vogler also leads the Sun Belt with 134 assists.
MTSU is led offensively by Desmond Yates, the preseason Sun Belt Player of the Year. He scores a league-best 18.0 ppg. Kevin Kanaskie adds 11.4 ppg and Demetrius Green also reaches double-figures with 11.9 ppg.
The Blue Raiders lead the all-time series 6-3, including winning the last three games. Thursday's game will be broadcast on the Troy ISP Network with Barry McKnight and Jerry Miller bringing you all the action.
The game can also be seen on Trojanvision on a tape-delayed broadcast beginning at 11 pm on Thursday night.
