TROY, Ala.- The Troy University soccer teams heads home for a slate of Sun Belt Conference matches as they welcome Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky this weekend.
The Trojans (5-4-1, 2-1 SunBelt) will kick off their weekend with Middle Tennessee (8-1-1, 1-1 Sun Belt) as the Trojans look for their first-ever win over the Blue Raiders. The match is set for 3 pm on Friday.
MTSU is off to their best start in school history and look to continue their undefeated Sunbelt record against the Trojans.
The Trojans are fresh off a weekend tour of Arkansas and the Trojans are looking for any hole they can exploit in the Blue Raiders' attack.
"Anytime you prepare for teams of this caliber, it is important to focus on the little things on defense as they can expose them," head coach Chris Bentley said.
Troy will be playing without senior captain Megan Bonfield due to a red card against Arkansas State that restricts her from action on Friday.
The Trojans continue their weekend home as they face Western Kentucky (6-3-1, 1-1 Sun Belt) as 1 pm on Sunday afternoon.
Troy is also winless against the Lady Toppers in the team's last four meetings.
WKU is coming off of an upset against Florida International in Bowling Green breaking their 12-game home winning streak.
Troy's league record stands even at 1-1 with a tough weekend of matches ahead. The Trojans are taking it in stride, but are looking forward to the support of the home crowd.
"We are taking this weekend one moment at a time, making sure that the next one is better than the last." Bentley said. "It will be great to be home in front of our fans."
