Troy Falls in Battle of Trojans

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Despite two players in double figures, the Troy Trojans fell in the battle of the Trojans to UALR Saturday afternoon, 75-46, at the Jack Stephens Center.
Kylie Morrissy and Donette McNair each scored 15 points in the loss for Troy (8-11, 3-6 Sun Belt). Morrissy was 5-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe, while McNair grabbed nine rebounds and connected on 7-of-8 from the free throw line.
The Trojans shot 34.1 (15-of-44) percent from the floor and just 18.2 (2-of-11) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 87.5 (14-of-16) percent from the free throw line.
Four UALR Trojans (16-4, 8-1 Sun Belt) scored in double figures as they defeated
Anshel Cooper led all scorers with 20 points and recorded four rebounds, while Chastity Reed scored 19 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Marian Kursh recorded 13 points and a team high of seven boards, while Kim Sitzmann scored 13 points and recorded three steals in the win. Asriel Rolfe led the team in assists with ten and in steals with three.
UALR 51.7 (31-of-60) percent from the floor, including shooting 61.5 (16-of-26) percent from the floor in the first half. They also shot 50 (3-of-6) percent from beyond the arc and 76.9 (10-of-13) percent from the free throw line. The hot-shooting first half enabled UALR to jump out to a 39-22 halftime advantage.

Over the next three minutes, UALR out scored Troy 13-2 including four points by Reed and Kursh to gain their largest lead at 25-13. Cooper scored the next six points in the game for UALR bringing the score to 31-13.
In the remaining 4:25 of the half, UALR scored eight points including six from Reed, while Troy scored nine points including five off of free throws to bring the half-time score to 39-22 in UALR's favor.

At the 15:11 mark, Cooper sparked a 6-3 run scoring all six points for UALR to give UALR the 59-31 advantage. Over the next five minutes, Troy held UALR scoreless while knocking down four points, until the 8:28 mark, when Mattilyn McIntyre scored on a three-point play giving UALR the 62-35 lead.
