Hat Tricks Continue as Troy Rolls, 9-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala. ? Jill Pinder posted her third consecutive hat trick for the Trojans as they dropped Alabama State 9-0 on Sunday afternoon in women's soccer action.
Bridget Duke also added three goals for the streaking Trojans. Troy has won four straight matches and holds a record of 5-0-2.
Pinder's three goals on the day give her nine in her last three matches and 13 for the season setting a new single-season record for scoring at Troy breaking the mark of 11 set by Courtney Reeder in 2001.
“I think she continues to position herself well and continues to finish her opportunities. That's the thing we need right now to continue to get better,” head coach Chris Bentley said.
Mary Morris, Laura Hopson and Mandy Miley each added goals for the Trojans. Kate Heilich and Morris both recorded two assists, while Duke and Nicole Targa added one each.
Ashley Branham notched another clean sheet for the Trojans in goal picking up her fifth win.
Troy is in action next on Friday when they host North Florida as part of the Troy Trojans Soccer Classic. Also squaring off on Sunday will be Alabama A&M and Louisiana Tech.
Sunday will see the home Trojans face Louisiana Tech and North Florida face Alabama A&M. Admission to all matches of the Classic will be free.
