Meadows Wins Pair of Medals at NACAC Meet

TOLUCA, Mexico - Former Troy University Trojan Tawanna Meadows won a pair of medals at the North American Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 championships this past week.
Less than a month after participating in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and the United States Olympic Trials, Meadows ran the second leg of the 4x100-meter relay team that won the gold medal with a time of 43.64 seconds. The United States finished just 0.09 seconds ahead of second-place Jamaica, who finished with a time of 43.73 seconds. The team from the United States was made up of Jessica Onyepunuka (USC), Meadows, Lynne Layne (Tennessee) and Scottesha Miller (Oklahoma).
Meadows also won an individual medal at the games, winning a silver medal in the 100-meter dash. After finishing second in the preliminaries with a time of 11.43 seconds, the former Trojan claimed the silver medal in the finals with a time of 11.36 seconds to finish second behind Jamaica's Schillonie Calvert with a time of 11.24 seconds.
