Honors Keep Coming for Troy Track & Field

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The postseason honors keep coming for the Troy University Track & Field program, with four athletes named All-Region for their performances in the Mideast Region announced by the U.S. Track * Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) Monday evening.
Junior O'Darien Bassett was named All-Region for his gold medal winning performance in the long jump, earning automatic entry into the NCAA Outdoor Championships next week in Des Moines, Iowa. Senior Tawanna Meadows earned All-Region status for her sixth place finish in the 100-meter dash, while sophomore Leander McKenzie was named All-Region in the 110-meter hurdles and junior Agata Cichoszewska was named All-Region in the triple jump.
For Cichoszewska, it was her second such award in as many years.
With the exception of Bassett, the remaining three athletes are awaiting the release of the athletes who received at-large berths into the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The field will be announced Tuesday afternoon.
