Lewis Starts Preseason Opener for Mercury

UNCASVILLE, Conn. - Former Troy Trojan Amy Lewis started the preseason opener for the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury Sunday afternoon against the Connecticut Sun.
The former Trojan from Hamilton, Australia faced a familiar foe in former Middle Tennessee State star Amber Holt in the preseason opener for the Mercury.
Lewis played just over 27 minutes in a 94-66 loss to Connecticut in the first of two preseason games for the Mercury in the next week. She scored six points on 2-of-5 shooting from the floor. She was also 0-of-2 from behind the three-point line and a perfect 2-of-3 from the free throw line.
The former Trojan also added a steal and an assist, less than two months after playing her final collegiate game in the Sun Belt Conference tournament, which ironically was against Holt.
