7:09 p.m.
This will be the last blog entry for a while because the races are going by so quickly. The 100-meter dash races are underway, I will try and catch you during the 800-meters and 5000-meters.
6:52 p.m.
The introductions are complete and there is the gun. Leander McKenzie finishes second in the race with a time of 14.17 seconds. He and the runners from Florida International and Arkansas State were neck and neck down to the finish line. Up next is the 400-meter runs for the men and women in which the Trojans have no runners competing.
6:45 p.m.
Porsche Holden finishes third in the 100-meter hurdles to win the bronze as a freshman with a time of 14.40 seconds.
6:41 p.m.

6:29 p.m.
Waiting on the women's 1,500-meter results to be posted, and the men are about to start their portion of the 1,500-meter race. Once again, I apologize for not being able to mention everyone's name in this blog but the pace of the running events leaves little time to get sentences in.
6:27 p.m.
The Trojan women fail to score in the 1,500-meter run, falling further behind in the standings overall in the team standings. The Trojans will look to make it up in the sprinting events.
6:14 p.m.
Waiting on the official results to come in for the 4x100-meter relay teams to figure out the point totals for each team. Meanwhile, the 1500-meter race is about to begin. The official results are in and you can find them by clicking here.
6:07 p.m.
The first and second leg in the 4x100-meter relay team for the men slowed the exchange down in the turn, and it cost them down the stretch, finishing fourth in the event with a time of 40.97 seconds. They must now try and qualify for the regionals in the last chance meet next weekend at Georgia Tech.
6:03 p.m.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team is preparing to start and there is the gun.
6:01 p.m.
The first leg had a clean hand-off, where the second hand-off to the third leg struggled a bit but the Trojans were able to make up the distance, charging from seventh to third and finishing with a time of 45.71 seconds. The winning time was 45.34 by Western Kentucky.
5:57 p.m.
The Trojans have Jocelyn WIlliams handing off to Juzil Rudolph to Shelisia Crawford and then on to Tawanna Meadows.
5:56 p.m.
The 4x100-meter relay has officially started with the Trojans in lane six. This marks the beginning of a hectic rush of events being thrown all over the track, so stay tuned.
5:40 p.m.
According to the scoreboard clock we are 20 minutes away from starting the running events, and as they continue to hand out awards .. the high jumpers for the men are finishing their preparations as the last field event of the day.
5:37 p.m.
Norman Austin moved up a spot into second place in the final javelin results with a throe of 64.78 meters, while Mike Conley finished eighth with a distance of 50.99 meters. The duo picked up nine points for the Trojans and pulled them within 15 points of Western Kentucky for the overall lead, and withing 13 points of second-place Middle Tennessee. The distance by Austin is a new PR and a new school record.
5:32 p.m.
While we are still waiting on the results to be posted for the men's triple jump and javelin, the results for the triple jump is scrolling along the scoreboard. O'Darien Bassett officially finished second with a distance of 50'9 1/4", while teammate Lamontrey Stamper finished eighth with a distance of 46'9 1/2". The performance by the duo earned the Trojans nine team points after being slated for just one in the pre-meet predicitions.
5:19 p.m.
The final field event for the women is complete and the race is close for the conference championship on that side. Western Kentucky leads with 65 points, while Middle Tennessee is in second with 63 points and Troy in third with 56. There are a host of teams within 24 points of the lead (ULM, USA, UNT and FIU). The race will be close down the stretch for all the teams involved.
5:14 p.m.
Still waiting on the triple jump results, but the women's hammer throw is in and ..... the Trojans earn seven points in the event. Sophomore Tiphanie Baker finished fourth overall to earn six points with a throw of 50.41 meters (165'5"), while teammate Monique Jordan finished seventh to earn two points with a throw of 48.30 (158'5"). Shenita Howell and Stephanie Yawn failed to score for the Trojans in the event.
5:07 p.m.
Just received word from the men's javelin, Norman Austin is sitting in third place while Mike Conley is in eighth heading into their last throws. That would give the Trojans the seven points they were predicting before the meet started.
4:48 p.m.
We are waiting on the official results from the men's triple jump, but we do know this ... O'Darien Bassett finished second in the event, the FIRST TIME he has jumped all season in the triple jump. The participant who won, from Middle Tennessee, had to beat the mark in his next-to-last jump. He took six jumps to Bassett's three (passed until his mark was beaten). We also know that Lamontrey Stamper made it to the finals of the event, but not sure where he finished.
4:45 p.m.
The countdown is on ... t-minus 75 minutes and counting until the running events start to conclude the meet.
3:12 p.m.
Triple jump for the men has started and O'Darien Bassett jumps 15.47 meters in his first triple jump of the year, qualifying for the NCAA Mideast Regionals in the event and also jumping the longest jump in the Sun Belt Conference this season. Meanwhile, Shenita Howell picked up two more points for the Trojans in the women's javelin by finishing seventh with a distance of 36.45 meters.
2:29 p.m.
Triple jumps are in and Agata Cichoszewska finished second in the event with a jump of 12.69 meters (41'7 3/4") - besting her career-best mark. The jump is also second all-time in Troy history, narrowly missing the 41'8" set by Sherion Taylor in 2003. The jump earned eight points for the Trojans, besting the projected six before the meet started.
1:50 p.m.
Ryan Schmeling narrowly missed the finals of the men's hammer throw by finishing tenth overall with a distance of 44.77 meters, with the last point total going to Buddy Prince of Western Kentucky with a distance of 45.57 meters. We are also awaiting the final results from the women's triple jump as we speak.
1:45 p.m.
So much for prognostication ... like I said, the athletes will determine who wins the meet. What do I mean by that? Well take for instance in the pole vault, the Trojans were projected with 5.5 points and ended up with 10 much like the winner of the event (Arkansas State). Joseph Callaway matched the best jump of his career by clearing 4.60 meters and finishing fourth overall in the event. Meanwhile, teammate Grant Bullington added three points by finishing sixth after clearing 4.45 meters and Jeremy Cline added two points by finishing seventh by clearing 4.30 meters.
1:25 p.m.
Looking at the projected point totals and the finals of the running events, the projected point totals have the men finishing third with 89.5 points. They would finish behind Western Kentucky (128 points) and Middle Tennessee (115 points). On the women's side, the projected point total has the Trojans finishing second with 111 points, finishing behind Western Kentucky (142 points). Keep in mind that this is just a projection, and the athletes still control their team's destiny.
1:19 p.m.
The Trojans do not have a finalist in the men's hammer throw, but the women's triple jumpers are warming up for the finals and it looks as though Agata Cichoszewska is in the finals of the event. Also, can't tell which pole vaulter is still alive, but a men's pole vaulter is still in the final three or four vaulters left in the competition.
12:03 p.m.
The first jumper of the day in the triple jump just took to the runway, and the Trojans have three athletes competing in the event. Juzil Rudolph (heptathlon champion and 100-meter hurdle finalist), Porsche Holden (long jump - fifth place, 100-meter hurdle and 400-meter hurdle finalist) and Agata Cichoszewska (NCAA Regional qualifier).
11:59 a.m.
The calls are being made for the first events of the day - all field events. The first three events of the day are the hammer throw for the men, the pole vault for the men and the javelin for the women. The Trojans will send Ryan Schmeling and Michael Martin to the throwing events this morning, looking to score some points to get the day started for the men who are in fifth place right now. Also, the men will send Grant Bullington, Joseph Callaway and Jeremy Cline to the pole vault runway looking to score points in their first events of the championship. Meanwhile, the women will send Shenita Howell, Megan Young, Stephanie Yawn and Erin Clymer to the javelin competition. The women enter the final day of competition in third place overall. The projected number of points heading into the day for the men was 32 points, leaving them eight points behind their pace. Meanwhile, the projected number of points for the women heading into the final day of competition was at 54 points.
9:33 a.m.
