Trojans Sweep Series Arkansas State

“This was a big sweep for us,” coach Bobby Pierce said. “We played as good as we have all season this weekend. We hit, pitched and we defended well in this series.”
The Trojans wasted very little time putting runs on the board. Bryan Miller led things off by reaching on an error by Jordan Kimball. Michael Precise followed with a walk with Miller scoring on a single from Daryl Otwell. Beau Brooks picked up an RBI on a single to right field. Trevor Tyre and Brock Kelley both walked with Kelley picking up an RBI. Shohei Fujita singled through the right side plating the runner from third and giving him his second RBI on the season. Miller grounded out to second plating
Brooks hit his fourth home run of the season in the seventh inning with a ball over the monster in right field for the 7-0 lead.
Steve Felix singled in the eighth and scored on a RBI single form Otwell giving the Trojans the 8-2 final score.
Ryan Ellison (1-1) picked up his first win of the season in the final game of the series. He tossed seven innings and did not allow a run on five hits. He walked the first batter of the game and struck out eight.
Drew Hull pitched the eighth inning and gave up two runs on four Indian hits. Closer Josh Storm tossed the final inning against
Otwell, Felix, and Brooks each had two hits. Brooks and Otwell each chipped in two RBI.
