COLORADO SPRINGS - The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently awarded Erin Kniery with its annual All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year award - recognizing the student-athlete's dedication to strength training and conditioning.
This year, the NSCA awarded 239 collegiate athletes from 165 schools with this esteemed award. Kniery was selected by the strength and conditioning coach at Troy, Richard Shaughnessy, III, CSCS.
"Erin has a tremendous work ethic," Shaughnessy said. "Her work ethic not only drives herself, but it also motivates her teammates to perform well. She is a leader on and off the field and exemplifies a true model student-athlete. She has persevered and overcome many setbacks due to injuries while playing soccer."
The NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year Award program is in its 29th year, and is made possible by a grant from Power Systems, Inc., a Knoxville, Tennessee fitness product leader.
"The advantages of strength training and conditioning cannot be denied in collegiate athletics. These student-athletes attest to this understanding, and are to applauded for their hard work and dedication."
