Trojans Get Rematch with Jax State

TROY, Ala. - The Troy Trojans will hit the road tonight for the first of 11 straight as they travel to face old rival, Jacksonville State.

“This is a good rivalry between us and Jax State,” head coach Bobby Pierce said. “This series goes back a long time and it is very important to the Troy family and alumni.”

The Trojans have had very little success this year in mid-week games. Their mid-week record now stands at 6-7 with five of the losses coming to in-state schools.

This will be the 125^th meeting between the two schools with Troy holding the 76-48 overall advantage and the 31-25 advantage in Jacksonville.

Troy will send senior Rob Brown (1-2, 4.44 ERA) to the hill in search of his second win of the year.

The Trojans are led at the plate by senior Bryan Miller who is batting .341 with 20 doubles and 30 RBI. Catcher Beau Brooks stands at .328 with 26 RBI. Michael Precise is the Trojans hottest hitter. He collected 15 RBI last week in five games. He had two home runs including a grand slam.
