Trojans Pound Panthers, 12-3

The seventh inning proved to be the break-out inning that the Trojans have been looking for all season.
Lance Miller led off with a single up the middle and scored on a double to right center by junior Brock Kelley. Junior Trevor Tyre walked and both runners moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Charley Williams. Adam Bryant reached on a fielder's choice scoring Lance Miller form third. Bart Pettus followed with a walk to load the bases and all runners would score on a bases clearing double by Bryan Miller. Junior Beau Brooks followed the double with his second homerun of the season and the first over the monster in right field giving the Trojans the final score, 12-3.
The Trojans got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Miller doubled to right field and scored on Brooks' RBI single for the 1-0 lead.
FIU (6-8, 1-2) scored a run in the top of the third inning when Jorge Castillo doubled and scored on a Lamar Guy groundout knotting the score at 1-1.
Junior Travis Burge (3-0) went seven innings and allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out four batters picking up his third win of the year. A.J. Howard struck out one batter and walked one in his one inning. Closer Josh Storm finished the game striking out two of the three batters he faced.
Steven Stewart (0-1) took the loss on the hill for the Panthers going five and 2/3 innings allowing five runs on nine hits. He walked four batters and struck out two. Brian Santana gave up three runs in 2/3 of an inning with James Lajiness issuing four runs on two hits.
Miller had four doubles and a single to go along with four RBI while also scoring three runs. Brooks also added three RBI on two hits. Lance Miller had three hits and Kelley had two. Pettus also had two RBI.
The Trojans will be back in action on Tuesday when they play host to
