Trojans To Face Louisiana-Monroe

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Troy University Trojans women's basketball team left the campus of Middle Tennessee Saturday night not knowing who, or where, they would be playing their first round game in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
After the night was complete in women's basketball around the conference, the Trojans (12-17, 5-13 Sun Belt) now know they will be hitting the road to face sixth-seeded Lousiana-Monroe (17-12, 10-8 Sun Belt). A game time has yet to be determined.
The Trojans knew they would be facing either South Alabama, Florida International or Louisiana-Monroe heading into the night's action. After South Alabama defeated Florida International, the scenario was down to two teams in USA and Lousiana-Monroe. The Warhawks loss to Arkansas-Little Rock Saturday night, dropped Lousiana-Monroe from the fifth seed to the sixth seed.
Troy and ULM met earlier this season, with the Warhawks claiming a 51-49 victory at Trojan Arena. Shannon Lloyd's lay-up with just 1.6 seconds remaining on the clock gave the Warhawks a two-point victory. Lottie Moore led ULM with 16 points and LaJeanna Howard added 11. Amy Lewis led Troy with 15 points, while Kylie Morrissy added 10.
ULM will enter the game losers of 4-of-5, including their last three to Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock and Western Kentucky. Meanwhile, the Trojans will enter winner's of 2-of-3, losing a heartbreaker on the road at Middle Tennessee Saturday afternoon.
