Trojans Travel To FSU For Snowbird Invitational

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University track & field programs travel to Florida State University this weekend for the 2008 Snowbird Invitational, officially opening the 2008 outdoor track & field season.
The Trojans will try and build momentum from their performance at the Jaguar Premier, two weeks ago at the University of South Alabama, in which they won five gold medals. Tiphanie Baker and Ryan Schmeling each won two gold medals, while Kelly Harrington added another for Troy.
This week, the Trojans will be facing some stiff competition including the defending NCAA champion on the men's side - the host Florida State Seminoles. Other teams that are competing this weekend include South Carolina State (women only), Montreat (women only), West Florida, US Elite (women only), Jacksonville (women only), Johnson & Wales, Florida, MidAmerica Nazarene, Missouri Southern (women only), R.A.P.I.D. (men only), Florida A&M (women only), Tennessee-Martin, Sun Belt Conference foe Western Kentucky, North Florida, Webber, Florida State, Hillsdale, Albany State, Chattanooga, Georgia State and Louisiana Tech.
