JACKSONVILLE ? After enjoying the Christmas holidays away from Troy, the Troy Trojans will get back into the swing of things with their final game of 2008 on Monday night when they face Jacksonville University.
The Trojans are coming off a 101-92 victory over UNC-Wilmington last Monday in Troy. The victory was a sweet one, as it avenged a 107-95 loss to the Seahawks back in November in Wilmington.
The game against the Dolphins will be the final road non-conference game of the season for Troy. The Trojans face William Carey at home on January 5 in the final out-of-conference game of the 2008-09 season. Troy has faced JU 17 times, holding a 10-7 record, including a 17 point win (98-80) at Trojan Arena last season.
The Trojans are 0-5 on the road this season, but have won twice away from Trojan Arena, picking up two neutral court wins over Alcorn State and Northwestern State.
Richard Delk leads the Trojans in scoring at 14.0 ppg, but it has been Brandon Hazzard carrying the load of late. The junior from Atlanta is averaging 21 points and five rebounds over the last three games, games which Troy holds a 2-1 record.
Tip-off is set for 6 pm CST at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. No live stats will be available, but video can be purchased via www.asun.tv. Barry McKnight will bring you all the action from courtside on the Troy ISP Network.
