Trojan Men Run Well In Birmingham

HOOVER, Ala. - The Troy Trojan men's cross country team finished third overall, while the women finished fifth in the Great American Cross Country Festival.
The men finished with a total of 53 points, finishing behind South Alabama (52 points) and meet champion Tennessee-Chattanooga (33 points). The Trojans' Jeremy Moujoodi recorded a top 10 finish, crossing the line sixth with a time of 26:21.1 - finishing just two seconds behind David Moore for fifth place. Teammate Denzel Ramirez finished ninth overall with a time of 26:54.5, finishing just 10 seconds behind Onesmus Too of South Alabama for eighth place.
Drew Horner was the next Trojan to cross the line, just outside the top 10 at 11th place overall, running a time of 27:06.3. He was followed by Brett Lewis in 20th place with a time of 28:10.2 and Alec Hamm in 22nd place with a time of 28:27.2. Other runners for the Trojans finishing the race were Drew Taylor (29:18.3) and Adam Vise (29:45.0).
Meanwhile, for the women, the Trojans finished fifth with 111 points, with Jenean Corcoran recorded yet another top 10 finish this season. The eighth place finish for Corcoran was her fourth appearance in the top 10 and she has finished no lower than eighth this season. The senior from Orlando, Fla., ran a time of 19:45.6 and finished just 15 seconds out of the top five on the season.
Erika Fyrvall finished 16th for the Trojans with a time of 20:49.8, while Kelly Harrington returned home to finish 18th with a time of 21:12.0. Other runners for the Trojans on Saturday were Chontia Allen (24:15.5), Brentley Collins (24:16.1) and Shea Matthews (25:54.0).
The Trojans return to action next weekend hosting the Coach O Invitational.
