The Troy cross country programs will look to continue their strong showings thus far this season when they run in the Great American Cross Country Fesitval in Birmingham on Saturday morning.
Senior Jenean Corcoran will look to pace the women's team as she has finished in the top 10 in all three races thus far this season. Last weekend she finished second in her section of the Tiger Invitational in Auburn, before that she finished sixth in the Azaela City Classic and won the Trojan Invitational. She will be joined up front by Erika Fyrvall, the Swedish freshman, and by Kelly Harrington from nearby Spain Park. Both runners had impressive showings last weekend at Auburn.
On the men's side, Jeremy Moujoodi and Denzel Ramirez will look to build off their showings last weekend in Auburn and pace the Trojan men to a strong showing in Birmingham.
"This weekend there will be nine teams competing in the men's and women's races," coach Tommy Barksdale said. "We are looking to run like we did at Auburn, the teams performed very well and we are looking to reproduce the same results. Although this is a tougher course we want the same effort as the last meet. The teams are looking good at this point in the season and keeping our eye on the major goal, and that is conference."
The teams will leave at noon today for the races which start tomorrow morning, and is the last meet before the Trojans host the Coach O Invitational in Troy next weekend.
