Auburn Edges Troy in Defensive Battle, 1-0

AUBURN, Ala. - Freshman Karla Smith continued to impress in goal for the Troy Trojans as she made 13 saves and allowed only the decisive goal as Troy fell to Auburn 1-0.
Smith has allowed only three goals in four matches this season. She has played every minute of every match thus far.
Troy (2-2-0) managed only one shot on goal, Laura Hopson's attempt, and attempted only four shots.
Ashley Marks scored the game winning goal for Auburn (1-1-1) in the 77th minute off an assist from Gabi Rivera.
The Trojans will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to face national semi-finalist Florida State at 7 pm.
