JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Ceil Martinec's 77th minute goal was not enough as the Jacksonville State Gamecocks defeated the Troy Trojans by a score of 2-1 in women's soccer action.
The goal was the first of Martinec's career and came off of a set piece. The Gamecock's had held Troy scoreless up until that point.
Karla Smith started in goal for the Trojans and made three saves, while allowing the two JSU goals.
With the loss, Troy's record drops to 3-5. The Trojans will return to action on Sunday at 1pm against Alabama State at the Troy Soccer Complex.
T-shirts will be given out to the first 40 fans in attendance. Admission to all home soccer matches is free.
