Meadows, 4x200 Relay Team Impressive at Sea Ray Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tawanna Meadows ran her third-best 100-meter time of the season and the men's 4x200 relay team posted an impressive run to highlight the first day of the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
Meadows, a junior from Panama City, Fla., covered the 100 meters in 11.89 seconds, just .14 seconds off her best time of the season. She finished fifth in the field of 48.
The men's 4x200 relay team used a solid start by Tevis Wells to finish seventh among 18 teams with a time of 1:26.91. Burke Leonce, Adrian Culbertson and Lamar Hicks completed the circuit.
Two other Trojans earned a top-10 standing in one of the premier meets in the Southeast. Agata Cichoszewska went a distance of 12.11 meters (39-feet, 8.75-inches) to finish ninth in the women's triple jump, while Michael Heck finished 10th in the shot put with a throw of 16.06 meters (52-feet, 8.25-inches).
The meet continues Saturday with a full schedule of running and field events. However, the weather is not expected to cooperate, forcing organizers to consider alterations.
