Robinson Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

Troy University senior Clint Robinson was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for his efforts this past week on the diamond. Robinson tied the conference record with six consecutive games with a home run.
A Dothan, Ala., native, Robinson had three home runs during the week. Two of the home runs came against Florida International during the weekend series while the other homer came at UAB.
For the week, Robinson was 8-for-15 at the plate with12 runs batted in. For the season he is hitting .350 with a team-leading 10 homers and 36 RBI.
The home run on Friday night against FIU came in the third inning when Robinson hit a grand slam to give the Trojans the lead. He had a total of five RBI in Troy's 7-6 victory.
On Saturday, his home run was the only run of the game for the Trojans in a 9-1 loss.
In the finale against FIU, Robinson was 3-for-4 with three RBI, but saw his homer streak end at six games, two shy of the NCAA record..
The Sun Belt Player of the Week honor was the first for a Trojan player this season. Robinson was named one of the National Baseball Foundation's national players of the week last week.
