Trojans Face South Alabama Wednesday Night

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University women's basketball team opens Sun Belt Conference play on the road Wednesday night, facing the University of South Alabama at the Mitchell Center.
The Trojans are coming off a third-place finish in the Flint Hills Resources Islander Invitational this past weekend in Corpus Christi. Troy (6-3) defeated Alcorn State 66-58 to claim third in the tournament and placed senior Amy Lewis on the All-Tournament Team. They are lead by Lewis, averaging over 19 points per game, while Kylie Morrissy is averaging over 14 points per contest.
Meanwhile, South Alabama (9-1) is coming off a victory over another SWAC school, Southern, last week and are led by Shakirra Nettles with 11 points per game.

On This Date in Trojans History
Troy is 0-3 on December 19 in the history of women's basketball. The Trojans lost to Louisville 76-66 in 1994, then again against Missouri 77-52 in 1997. Troy also lost to Ohio University 92-84 in 1998. All three games were played on neutral courts and this will be the first conference game played on this date in Troy history.
Injury Update
All of the players on the Trojans roster will dress, with the exception of Lucy Lindley. The sophomore forward is listed as doubtful and will remain that way through the rest of this week. No other player has missed time due to injury thus far this season, and no with the exception of bumps and bruises; there have been no other injuries.
